Green Lanterns writer Tim Seeley is exiting the title earlier than expected - with this week's Green Lanterns #47, in fact.

Seeley was solicited to write June 2018's Green Lanterns #48 and #49 before Dan Jurgens takes over beginning with July's Green Lantern #50, but recent DC Writer's Workshop graduate Aaron Gillespie has taken over those two issues.

"Yeah, [Green Lanterns #47] is my last issue," Seeley confirmed with Newsarama. "So after this, Aaron Gillespie picks up some issues, and then you get Dan Jurgens, who will probably do a whole lot of cool cosmic stuff, because that's what Dan does."

Seeley didn't specify why he was leaving the title earlier than initially planned - he has written the series since October 2017's Green Lanterns #33.

Here is the updated solicitation for Gillespie's Green Lanterns #48 and #49 - despite the writer change, DC still carried over the solicitation for Seeley's originally-intended "Rebel Run" arc for these issues.
